Brittany Foust
owner, therapist, trainer

Brittany is a registered psychotherapist, who has uniquely combined her passion for horses with her Master's degrees from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology and the Creative Life, and Naropa University in Transpersonal Counseling and Wilderness Therapy.

While growing up in Virginia, she obtained an exceptional education in all aspects of horsemanship, including both riding and horse management through the Blue Ridge Hunt Pony Club and fox hunting first flight with the Blue Ridge Hunt from the ages of 7 onwards, establishing a deep love for galloping across fields.

Brittany competed at her first starter trials on her 8th birthday on a wonderful Welsh Pony named Farnley Tambourine. To this day, she can remember the excitement of riding Tambourine cross country! From there, she was hooked. From there she continued to move up through the levels; mostly on homebred ponies that she’d brought along.

Brittany had the opportunity to train extensively with Olympian and Olympic Coach Jimmy Wofford in Virginia. Brittany has competed through the Classic (long format) CCI* (now CCI** level), and schooled through the Intermediate level. Jimmy is still one of Brittany’s mentors and trainers albeit now remotely.

She uses her combined knowledge to facilitate the growth of Body N Soul as an equestrian facility offering boarding, breeding, equine training, riding lessons, and therapeutic, counseling interventions for individuals and groups. Her integrative approach focuses on building healthy relationships and partnerships between individuals and horses.

Ellie and Seamus Easy Living Hats.jpg

Ellie graduated from Cornell with a degree in Interior Design and Architecture and has used this to design media graphics as well as to construct conducive spaces for working and even recovery. She manages our graphics and assists with marketing strategies.

Her equestrian skills are also important at Body N Soul where she instructs individuals and groups. Her experiences of working in a large show barn with a
hunter/jumper focus and her eventing background allow her to combine and teach function and aesthetics while riding.
